What do people say about Blender?

Someone from the animation school suggested I download it and try to, to see if I like that sort of interface and 3D, since it's a 3D program... but I'm curious about what others think about the software.

I probably won't get around to it. I still haven't really tried Flash yet. It scares me. Blender will probably scare me, too, right? lol.

And I still have a lot of drawing (and learning how to draw) work ahead of me, too. Seems sort of like putting the cart before the horse.

But, if anyone stops by here and sees this... if you have any opinions to share, that'd be great.
